Dr. Sophie Le Cann is a permanent researcher at the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) since 2020, affiliated to the Multi-Scale Modeling and Simulation (MSME) laboratory of the East-Paris University (UPEC). From a biomedical engineering background, she specialized in musculoskeletal biomechanics with a master of research in 2011 and a PhD in spinal biomechanics in 2014, from Aix-Marseille University, France. She continued as a post-doctorate, first for 3 years in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Lund University, Sweden, and then 2 years at the CNRS, MSME lab, thanks to an EU-funding Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA-IF). Her research area is primarily bone biomechanics, with a focus on the characterization of implants and their mechanical stability in bone at various scales, combing several experimental techniques as well as numerical approaches.
